Review on ☕️ Compact and Convenient: Keurig K-Mini Coffee Maker - Single Serve K-Cup Brewer in Matte Black by Pamela Whitworth

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is the perfect single serve dispenser

I was an early customer of one of Keurig's early K-Cup coffeemakers before they became such a common kitchen accessory. I stayed with them when their machines weren't well designed to actually dump junk anymore, and when they tried - and failed - to prevent users with a dubious locking scheme from only using their own brands of pods. Over time I switched from their plastic home brewers to their commercial products to achieve the quality I wanted and currently have a K-150 which I consider to be one of their best products. So firstly I'm not new to the Keurig ecosystem and secondly I didn't need another brewer at all. At least I didn't think so. ORIGIN MINI When I travel, however, I notice that many of the hotels I've stayed in have Keurig's original one-shot compact brewery, so I always travel with some coffee, tea, and sometimes hot chocolate pods so I can quickly brew in my room. This version of a hotel room (was) nice but poorly designed and not really suitable for home use. When I first saw this new improved K-Mini I was very interested. I was hoping that it would be possible to take it with us on trips because of its small size, use it in our cottage or country house, or even something even more special, something close and dear to my needs - like a cup of hot drink. Water dispenser for use with tea bags or other instant drinks. THE MAGIC HOT WATER TRICK You see, the world is in dire need of a good one-serving hot water dispenser, but no one knows. There is a very cheap model that has always existed that has more disadvantages than advantages, and several models from Japan that are overpriced and very imperfect in design. Then there was a perfect model that lasted a couple of months and I had to buy a dozen for fear it would be discontinued. They have stopped and the one I bought is still working but is now showing signs of slow wear. I was hoping this new Keurig would help me fill the gap for something I could use to make a cup of hot water for a quick late-night cup of tea or cocoa. And yes, that's all. AS A COFFEE MARKER The one-cup mini coffee maker does what you hope and expect, so I won't go into detail about that. You drop a pod into the familiar clip-on pod, pour a cup of water into the permanently attached pod and press a single button and you're out of coffee in a few minutes. The good news is that if you don't put a pod in, everything else happens the same, except hot clear water comes out that you can use for tea or whatever. And the nice thing is that you can choose between 6 and 12 ounces of water depending on how much you're pouring. Most other similar devices dispense a measured amount of water, usually exactly 8 ounces. This drink pours back just as you add it, so you can make your tea, soup or cocoa as strong as you like. WHY I LOVE ITI ITI usually reserves 5 stars for superstar products, the best of the best, and I have to tell you I was very impressed by this little gem. It looks well made, not plastic, and the overall design is a lesson in simplicity but perfection. The first thing I noticed is that there's a small cutout on the back to tuck away some or all of the power cord - and by the way it has a standard 3-pin grounded plug. If you have it on your kitchen counter, you can pull out just enough cord to reach the outlet, and if you're traveling with it, you can easily stow the entire cord in one safe place. You literally don't need a guide, although it is well written, has large color illustrations and is very easy to understand. Once you've plugged it in, lift the flap door at the top of the unit and pour in water. You are not limited to a fixed amount, you can fill it anywhere between 6 and 12 oz to match your coffee strength taste or fill travel mugs. and yes, it fills a full-size car mug with ease. After pouring the water, lift the handle, which will automatically turn on the power, insert the K cup and squeeze the handle again, and then press the extra large brew button on top. When you do this, the light around the button will stop flashing and the water will heat up and the coffee will be brewed. If you don't do anything else for 40 seconds afterwards, e.g. B. preparing another cup, the power supply is switched off. I calculated the time from pressing the button to filling the cup and it took just under 1 minute 18 seconds. And the water is very hot cup after cup, unlike most similar brewers which get colder with each cup. One thing that interests me is that water isn't wasted if I pour in exactly one cup it makes exactly one cup. outside of it. Most coffee makers don't. And you don't have to clean it because it doesn't have a reservoir like full-size coffee makers, the water you pour flows through, heats up and is dispensed. Water does not stagnate inside and does not mold. WHAT REALLY SOLD ME I can tell I'm impressed and excited about this thing. When I saw it I thought it would be nice to have but had no idea I would ever use it at home instead of my big fancy commercial brewery. I was so wrong In fact they now sit next to each other and I use the Mini every time I need a cup of hot water for tea, soup, hot chocolate or whatever. But what I didn't expect is that I'll be using the Mini for those times when I want to brew a thousand cups of coffee throughout the day and don't want to wait for the entire water tank to fill up. my large coffee maker to heat, or I definitely don't want to make a pot of traditional coffee. With a mini-machine, the entire process of preparing a cup takes about two minutes, with no scrubbing or water residue that can cause an unpleasant taste. While some reviewers didn't get what it was, it's actually the FASTEST way to make a cup of coffee from scratch in my kitchen. That said, I now use this thing two or three times a day and it's become something I can't be without. You know what that means, I'd rather buy a few of these now if they ever get discontinued. TO BUY OR NOT Nowhere says this is a full size, fully functional coffee maker. I brought this up because of some frustrated users who were unaware that they had posted negative comments about the size of the water tank or that it wasn't meant to be used with those finicky adapters that have to be manually filled with ground coffee. I never saw the point in spending half an hour filling and cleaning these devices to save two cents - they defeat the whole purpose of speed, convenience and zero cleaning of K-Cups. And no, it doesn't even have a traditional multi-cup water tank, what you pour is heated and poured into your mug. That is why it is also known as a one-shot brewer. I wonder why anyone thinks 2 minutes is too long to wait for a cup of coffee. The last time I was at Starbucks, it took me 10 minutes to brew a cup of coffee, my full-size Keurig takes over 10 minutes to warm up before I can make my first cup, and my Bunn coffee maker takes too over 10 minutes. Most electric water heaters take about 8 minutes to boil and about 5 minutes in a pot on my stovetop. What exactly are you comparing it to that can boil a cup of water in less than 2 minutes? TIPS Comparing this coffee maker with others, from the moment you pour water in to the moment your cup of coffee is ready, it takes about 1 minute. and 18 seconds is the fastest I've ever seen. It's a shame that so many people compare a disposable coffee maker to a full-size coffee maker that has already taken time to heat an entire tank of water and the user just spills it. Yes, of course it's a few seconds "faster". The time it takes to boil a cup of water at sea level and at high altitude varies significantly, which probably explains why some people time their brewer differently. Warm up. It's science, you can't change anything. All Keurig brewers require the brew button to be pressed immediately after lowering the pod handle. After a few seconds, the machine goes into standby mode and the handle needs to be raised and lowered again. This probably explains those users who reported their device not working or delivering water - they didn't read the instructions. FINAL WORDS From the moment I opened the box, I enjoyed this device more than anything I've ever tried. seen so far this year. Everything in it is exactly as it should be. If you like the convenience of K-cups, want to quickly make a cup of coffee, tea, cocoa, or soup with no prep and cleanup time, don't have a lot of desk space, or need a custom brewery for your dorm room. or an office cubicle, or looking for the perfect one cup water heater, this is what you are looking for. I recommend it.
