I've been using Wheel Wax on a variety of wheel sets on my cars for about three years, both painted and polished clear coated aluminum. Before that I used regular car polish. This product is better for several reasons. First, it definitely takes longer; I usually only apply it once a year, although I think twice a year or more may be required for a high mileage car. Towards the end of the year I noticed that the water was still collecting well on the wheel in contrast to the untreated wheel. This product is said to be more heat resistant than regular car wax, so it lasts longer on the hot surface of the wheel. It builds up as you ride the bike. However, it is much easier to flush the remaining brake fluid out of the wheel if you do it regularly. I didn't expect any product to save you from washing your wheels. As an added bonus, Wheel Wax is rich in texture and easy to apply and then easy to remove with minimal buffing. It also has a pleasant aroma.
