Review on πŸ”§ CTA Tools 1726 Oil Filter Wrench: Ultimate Compatibility with Toyota Filters by Tony Weber

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal for Toyota oil filter cover. You can use 2 ratchets to remove a stuck drain plug.

This is a durable oil filter wrench that fits many Toyota oil filter caps. Nice tight fit. The unusual design leaves enough room to attach a 3/8" ratchet to the drain plug (on some canisters) and brace the cap with a 1/2" wrench. This is easier after removing the entire knot. Sometimes the drain plug sticks and the entire assembly is unscrewed from the engine, and not just the screw. BY THE WAY. Many Toyota filter caps only require 18 lb/ft of torque. But some "mechanics" screw them very tight, as if expecting them to rotate 3/4 of a turn after contact, like a regular oil filter. If a cam has pulled the knot, I recommend replacing the knot if it's black plastic. My filter cap spins easily after contact. A completely different seal than a conventional oil filter. Refer to your vehicle or repair manual for details on the filter cover.
