I threw away the universal one and went for the one that was MADE for my TV!

I always seem to lose something. And by "I" I mean my children. And by "lost" I mean discarded or otherwise hidden and/or rendered unusable. Serious. My children must become spies. They are secretive, sneaky and have access to more secret places than the CIA. My toddlers would take things and hide them so well I could tear the whole house apart and still not find their hiding spots. And I say "hidden" because they will inevitably result in said object randomly reappearing hours, days, months after I've given up dreams of ever finding it. And, most likely, it has already been replaced. My kids aren't even "free range" kids. My teenager is not allowed out alone unless I know who, what, where, when and why. And set the registration time. Like every 15 minutes. And I work from home, so the kids are generally underfoot. All day. Daily. But they still manage to pull one on Mama. Daily. About a year ago, one of the terrible two managed to "lose" the TV remote control. Do not know how. I do not know where. I went and bought a "universal" remote from a big store (this was before I got to know all the wonders of PRIME) that didn't always work with our TV. Then, when we got a new cable system, the need to swap out the console decreased. It was actually great that the children had to pull themselves together to change the input (cable to HDMI to Blu-Ray and back). But when I got tired of smuggling the cable company (DISH) AND getting the antenna (also Prime), I knew we had to give away the remote control that came with the cable. And while it was a game for kids to change inputs from time to time, I didn't think this frail generation could survive changing channels with the buttons on the side of the TV. I mean obviously they could if they had to. But this mom just isn't ready to listen or deal with the whining that follows. Quick search, selection and Prime delivered this remote to my door in two days! PRO: * With the "universal" remote, I had to "program" it. I put these terms in quotes because while they were definitions of what should happen/what it should be, none of them fit. This remote came working out of the shipping envelope. I drew myself with excitement. Just like the children! We forgot how nice it is to be able to control your TV from the comfort of your couch CONS:* It's incredibly light. Significantly lighter than the original remote control. Which worries me about how quickly one of the two horrid ones can "hide" it. In a normal household, this can be a pro. Here it is only a matter of time. So happy with both this remote and my complete obsession with Prime.
