Review on ๐Ÿ“ถ ASUS AC1750 WiFi Router (RT-ACRH18): Dual Band Wireless Internet Router with Easy Setup, Parental Control, USB 3.0, AiRadar Beamforming Technology, MU-MIMO - Enhanced Speed, Stability, and Coverage by Mood Neboet

Fast, reliable (typical ASUS!) and great WiFi coverage throughout the house!

Strong signal strength throughout the home, WiFi download speed increased from 56,000 to 120+ MB in most locations. I haven't tested it outside or at the HOA pool, but when you're at the pool, what are you doing online, right? Once I figured out what the default IP was from the command line, the browser-based setup was a breeze. I used the same SSIDs and passwords as on my previous router, so no device was disconnected and left alone. It's a bit strange that every setting change requires a router reboot, but my family can adapt. We don't change the settings when either of us is playing online games or doing a large download. I also have the latest firmware, no problems. We have a wired desktop, an Android, a connected iPhone, and I have a wireless desktop, two MacBooks, and a laptop (although I usually only use one of my devices at a time). But even if all of our devices were on at the same time, I'm sure this ASUS router will handle it like a champ. You can spend hundreds more on routers if you want, but if making your money is important to you. Go Asus! Highly recommended! Edit 01/01/20: A few months ago the router started slowing down and randomly dropping 5GHz connections. I'm not sure what the problem is, but the 5GHz radio has stopped transmitting. For a while we were getting over 100MB all over the house. And a few weeks ago xfinity/comcast brought us a modem downgrade (my words, not theirs). Now we are lucky that we have 20MB of downloads on all bands. Meanwhile, this pup is still dropping the 5GHz connection several times a day. I have to power cycle my router or connect to a 2.4 network and reboot each time. I understand that routers are consumables, like printer cartridges, but damn it! There are no firmware updates available to fix this problem, a google search shows I'm not alone. ASUS needs to get its ass up and fix this POS. It's still under warranty. Update 2/3/20: ASUS now refuses to redeem the two-year warranty by sending me a new device. They wanted me to send this back for "repair". Yes, how are new components soldered to the motherboard? And if I did that, I'd be without WiFi for months. Avoid.
