This bit cuts through plastic with ease and leaves a very nice smooth edge. Doesn't melt plastic or leave jagged edges. Will also cut wood but I wouldn't use it for steel. When I tried to use this bit on sheet metal from a computer case, the bit made a lot of noise and cut very slowly. Cutting the sheet metal damaged the teeth of the chisel and broke the teeth. Luckily I left when I was ahead and my lure is still usable with softer materials. Haven't tried cutting aluminum with it, it will probably work fine, but I think I'll only cut plastic and wood with it. This bit creates a ton of fine dust particles when cutting, so use it outdoors along with a dust mask/respirator to avoid inhaling the particles this thing kicks up.
