Plug and Play for Mac with El Capitan and Sierra

I have an Apple Thunderbolt Gigabit Adapter but I use both Thunderbolt ports on my Macbook Pro for displays and I wanted to use something for wired networking eh prompted me to this unit. I plugged it into a hub built into one of the monitors, but of course it works just as well plugged directly into the Mac. No drivers required, setup was easy and I had no issues with it. . In fact, it works so well that I bought it for work, where I was using an Apple branded USB 2.0 device that was actually giving me problems (said my network cable was unplugged, etc.). I use all of that. working day and had no problems with it at all. Both networks are gigabit and I moved a lot of data. This is a really nice little device. By the way, El Capitan has some issues with USB (at the time of writing this article). So if you are having problems with this device, try resetting the system management controller. UPDATE: I still use it every day and stream at full gigabit speeds with a few issues on my mid 2014 Macbook Pro. I was using El Capitan during my initial review but it's supported well in Sierra as well with no drivers installed Need to become. Realtek.tw has a driver available that uses less CPU than the built in Mac driver in Sierra that I am currently using. I've used it for the past year or so, I've had a copy or two. where the speed was slowed down to a minimum (10MB) but simply unplugging the device from the USB port and reinstalling it got me back to full gigabit speeds. For more than a year of daily use, that's very good. Since I switched to the Realtek driver with Sierra I haven't had any more problems.
