The good news is that he's very pretty with all those tiny shells. I already mixed it into a bag of sand in my cichlid tank. The bad news is if I had to buy it again I probably wouldn't. I would probably just walk all the sand. Firstly, I'm not entirely sure how much of this is actual crushed coral. There's tons of seashells mixed in and what appears to be small pieces of gravel. There were also small pieces of black material and some dark brown ones that looked like dried shredded leaves that floated to the top when flushed and I had to pick while they were floating. Second, there's a ton of sand mixed in, so don't think for a second that the minimum flush required is what they printed right on the front of the box. That's a complete lie. The best method I've found to keep the water mostly clear when adding coral is to pour the entire bag into a bucket and fill it with water, shaking and rinsing several times. Then take a few handfuls of coral and place them in the second container (I used a clear glass bowl) and start spinning them like you're picking gold. After a few rinses, let it settle and drop it through this smaller coral container. Fill up with water and let stand. Then reach out and pull out as many corals as you can comfortably hold in one hand with your fingers spread (this allows the sand to seep through). When you get to the tiny piece of coral at the bottom of the glass bowl you can see all the sand. Just go ahead and grab more coral from the bucket and repeat the process. When finished you will have a small amount of coral at the bottom of the glass bowl and a pile of sand. drop it Good luck, that took forever.
