Just yesterday, May 26th, I received this silver lens. I took some photos with him. The focus is indeed faster than the older 35mm f1.4 on the x-t1. In good light they do not hunt at all. More confident in his lock and completely silent. I switched between single point and area focus - both seem quick when it comes to making and fixing decisions. I think the structure is great. The membrane ring is well dampened but still smooth like the old Takumara membrane ring. Turning the manual focus ring is also very easy. The sharpness at close range is the same. The difference is in the focus range at infinity. I always found the old 35mm lens to be a little softer when shooting anything over 30ft away - it might just have been my copy. But this newer 35mm lens is definitely sharper at all f-stops at longer distances. And if anyone is interested. The silver lens of the black x-t1 looks good. Overall I highly recommend this lens after a few hours of recording. And now that the price is lower, it's worth it. Updated June 10th. I've added some photos taken with the lens. It is excellent as an all-purpose lens for everyday use.
