Review on ⚒️ Oatey 14122 Rain Collar 1.25"-1.5" No-Calk Roof Flashing: Efficient Protection in Black by Tony Trotter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I saved $550 to replace a clamp

My new 2 year old roof started leaking about 1/2 inch of water that was building up in a large pot in a very heavy rain 1-2 inch rainstorm had gathered. The previous owner installed a new roof after the hurricane, but I didn't have the company name or documentation for warranty coverage. The roofer looked around and said the leak must have been through a roof pipe vent that was directly above the leak. They charged $550 to remove the shingles, remove the underlay, replace the pipe sleeve, and then replace the new ice and water shield and shingles. I saw and tried this at Revain for my 3 inch pipe. Installation took only a few seconds as I first rubbed the pipe and then slipped it over the pipe to seal this rain cover against possible water leaks around the existing rubber boot. Nothing leaked after the next 1-2" heavy rain, so it worked. I didn't really see a big gap before, but I think water got in before I installed this and after it stopped.
