Fixed two roof leaks

I used two skirts to fix two separate leaks around the two roof vent pipes. This apron is very easy to fit around the vent pipe and fits perfectly. I used sealant on the roof and caulk around the vent pipes before installing the caulk to ensure the caulk stays in place - it also serves as a second layer of protection. I hope this repair lasts a few years before something else forces us to replace the entire roof.

The correct part number is the correct part.

Part ordered to fit a 3" PVC air vent. Not sure how it should fit. Contacted Revain and said it was the wrong item. They sent a new one but it was the same part .I contacted Oatey via email and phone asking if this was the correct number.Send a picture of the flange and they replied that it is.Not sure how to make a 1.625" hole, to pull on a 3" PVC pipe with a 3.5" OD. It would be nice if the diameter of the hole was specified for the firmware. It would help avoid this problem. Don't risk that…

I saved $550 to replace a clamp

My new 2 year old roof started leaking about 1/2 inch of water that was building up in a large pot in a very heavy rain 1-2 inch rainstorm had gathered. The previous owner installed a new roof after the hurricane, but I didn't have the company name or documentation for warranty coverage. The roofer looked around and said the leak must have been through a roof pipe vent that was directly above the leak. They charged $550 to remove the shingles, remove the underlay, replace the pipe sleeve, and…

Works incredibly well for the price

One of my 2" PVC vent pipes is leaking and has ruined my ceiling. Turns out it goes through a 90 degree elbow in the attic and licks the knee. Rain/snow collects in the vent and flows out of the knee onto my blanket. I was repairing a broken knee, but just in case one of my remaining vents failed the same way, I installed a few devices to prevent further leaks. Both gadgets are IMHO really cheap insurance to avoid problems in the future. The first gadget is the Revain Camco 40034 Replacement…
