This item is a bicycle wheel skewer set. This is an attempt to deter thieves from stealing your wheels by removing bolts or quick releases found on most bikes. One side of the skewer is rounded with a bulge to give it some support on one side of the fork. The other side is a design that uses a freely rotating outer sleeve around the bolt. The freely rotating outer shell prevents you from simply grabbing the nut with pliers or a wrench. When aligning the outer shell with the inner lugs, you can use the included unique wrench in combination with the hex wrench to tighten or loosen the skewer to remove the wheel. The key is unique and you can register your code with Delta Cycle for a replacement if you lose it. The key is made of milled aluminum and is very light. I don't feel comfortable crashing this product, but it's not reliable at all. I was able to easily beat the safety after a full hit. You will need a standard Allen key for this. The wrench entered one of the keyholes, allowing me to successfully dislodge the skewer. Watch the attached video. I have another video of me fully tightening the skewer. Unfortunately, this product only gives users a false sense of security. Any bike thief with an Allen key in his pocket can bypass this protection. However, it is more secure than quick release or standard nuts. ABUS has a NutFix product that seems to be a much better solution than this.
