I never go into my workshop without this "canvas" in my workshop. I use pretty much everything from linen to cardstock and have tried most other linen pillows too. I like the texture/weave and the finish is almost right. I rate canvas (and also plaster) by whether they are "quick" or "slow" to draw, which is mostly related to how absorbent the surface is. For me, this surface is a good balance. Ideal for small studies or for gluing on small masonite slabs. A relatively affordable and durable surface that can take a little abuse. I've been using it for a few years now and have had to switch from turpentine to walnut oil for health reasons and it seems to work equally well for both.
