We had a complicated stair fixture with a molded handrail on one side and a handrail on the other that required the gate to close at an angle rather than across (see image ). ). I found this to be the only gateway that will work. Flat and round mounting brackets, sold separately, made mounting the gate to the railing easy, and the instructions were clear. As others have pointed out, the screws that come with the mount are not fully threaded. I had to buy shorter 20x1/4 screws to attach the clamp to the narrower part of the railing. I used tape on the inside of the clips to not leave marks on the railing. The doors are sturdy and close securely. Build quality and looks are decent for the money.
