I think this is a fantastic quality shackle for this price. For those of you worried about size, the item disassembles into three separate pieces (attaches with heavy-duty Velcro) so you can fully adjust it to your size and shape. Instructions included. The entire brace is well padded and the velcro straps and buckles are large and strong. The solid support bar built into the back is very durable. I found it about as comfortable as a straight leg brace, both when walking/crutching and sleeping. I think using it just after the acute phase of my injury really helped me to heal quickly. Unfortunately, over the past few years I have accumulated quite a large collection of joint orthoses. However, these braces are definitely in my collection and will definitely remain in my collection for future use (although I hope I don't have to use them again).
