I read the reviews some said the length is like a hair dryer. Since I've used that, I figured it wasn't a problem. It's much shorter than the hair dryer cord, so be prepared. Luckily my desktop has an outlet so I can play around with the gun to see if it's what I need. I can't use this without Lazy Susan to flip my resin pieces I'm working on. The company that makes them needs to make a longer cable and they will likely sell a lot of guns. It's just not safe to deal with tar and heat with a short cord. I also noticed the wire smell that was in other comments. Not the best but for now.
