Review on Get Your Pup Looking Fabulous: SHELANDY Pink Pet Hair Force Dryer With Built-In Heater For Dog Grooming And Blowing by William Lopez

Just what I needed on my review.

Edited after several weeks: When my dog shook, I'd see a light snow flurry. Bathing him in tub or shower meant ensuring I had hair clog remover, hair filter and time to clean up. I used this blower about every 7 days. Even if I didn't want to, I spent about 20 minutes blowing his coat. This is made easy because my pup loves to be vacuumed and now hair blown around. Today after his routine bath I noticed this. There was almost no dog hair in hair trap! Truthfully, I didn't notice much change in hair removal amounts with routine care. But, I have all the proof that I need with the scant amount of hair left in tub after his bath. The following is my initial review. I have a 22 month old Akita/Belgian Malinos/miscellaneous mix. He has features of the Akita on his face and the Malinos body type. From both breeds he inherited a very dense under coat but his top coat is short and coarse. I'd take him to the groomers and he't be shed free for weeks. If I groomed at home the results were worse then poor. I tried products designed to reduce shedding oral and topical with questionable uncertain results. 2 things did obvious decrease the shedding: Nulo large breed dog food and a Furminator grooming tool. Still if I groomed him at home (1) with Furnimator and a vacuum 30+ minutes before a bath (2) bath him with lots of warm water (3) when completely dry double the time of step (1). I would have a full literally have a full bag less vacuum canister and a room full of hair. I was thinking about shaving him. While searching the net I discovered 2 things. First it isn't advisable to shave a dog. Out of the many sites only one suggested shaving only the belly. This so dogs having problems could benefit lying on a cool surface. Second I discovered High Velocity dryers like this one. I realized that what I thought was a blow dryer at groomers could be identified as a top of the line and very expensive HV dryer. I don't need a jet engine. Another search began. On an article about deshedding double coated dogs, this product was advertised. It was significantly cheaper the nearly every other. It was watching demonstration of a Husky being blow dried that convinced me to try it. Hair blowing off him looked like a blizzard. My pup looks like a snow storm when he shakes. Yes the product works as advertised. My dog's under coat won't come out when vacuumed with suction set on high. But a shake sends things flying. On his back, sides and chest the hair blew off easily. The problem was in areas of thick under coat, chest, neck, thighs. There was significantly less hair removal. I tried all the attachments with no change in results. I then got the Furminator. I lightly stroked it through those areas while blowing. I had a blizzard. I removed more hair from those areas in 20 minutes then I did in 90 the previous day.! Now for the down side. This type of product really should be used outside or in a controlled space. You'll have that hair every where. This unit and from what I found on searches generate a lot of heat. Even with the heat off the temp is warm. I was anxious to try this unit. I had bathed and brushed my pup the previous day. So while on shaded deck in South Central Texas near 100 degrees I gave it a try. My pup snacked on ice during the 30 min total time. When I pulled on hair where I concentrated the unit, there was a marked decrease in shedding. Instead of chunks, I had a few hairs. Because of his hair type, a picture wouldn't show any difference. Only a video demo would do that. This unit is only a few dollars more then the groomers; bath, condition, brush, Furminator package. If you regularly groom your pup, and he has a thick under coat, consider this.
