I can't confirm this 100%, but the manual says the UV wavelength is 253.7, which is UV-C light (200-280nm). According to experts, "This light has a range of effects that interfere with and destroy the nucleic acids of bacteria and other viruses." UV-C has the strongest bactericidal effect. Hope that helps. It's big enough for most phones, glasses and some TV remotes.
