A quality CD player is always harder to find and this has worked great for me. I'll probably use it for radio too. I really like the sound from this thing and way better than what I seem to get from your typical Bluetooth speaker that you can use with your phone. I plan on taking this boombox on a trip, but it's pretty light, so I think it'll do the trick if you want. I expect this boombox to work well and last quite a while like most of my previous Sony purchases, so I decided to spend a little more on this unit rather than buying cheaper from a lesser known brand.
