We are an animal rescue that specializes in taming feral kittens and this cage essentially meets our needs. It's sturdy and just as easy to assemble as any other cat cage I've used. We haven't tried taking ours apart so I can't comment on how easy or difficult it is, at least not yet. A slot they designed for you to take out. The wire covering this is almost impossible to maneuver up and down, causing more trouble than it's worth - the shelves are extremely difficult to put in and take out or move around. This can be a plus as I have also used cat cages where the shelves will fall off if even a small kitten jumps on it. However, these shelves ALWAYS need to be placed or moved. They will probably get lighter over time, but for now we had to leave them where we initially placed them because moving them is very difficult! Despite the downsides, it's fantastic value for money and I'd honestly rather have shelves that even two adults can't move than shelves that fall over every time a cat or kitten tries to jump on them.
