This could be a great filter, but with a little more care. It's all stainless steel. The rim is made of a magnet-sensitive steel alloy. "Stainless steel" is a term that encompasses many alloys, some of which are actually magnetic. The tightly folded rim protects the screen while forming a liquid trap. Over time, rust will cause the screen to weaken. The thin screen is really double. The outer diameter of the rim is 5 inches. The grip is comfortable and flat where it meets the rim. The folded support eyelet is also flat, so the filter fits snugly and doesn't slip. On the one I received, the rest tab is slanted and not in line with the handle. Aesthetically antagonistic maybe, but not enough to cause instability. The rim weld and some other manufacturing artifacts are clearly visible. While not outstanding in quality control, it is better than many and the functional aspects of this tool show promise.Considering the cost, I would recommend this product.
