    Very strong for colanders and food strainers

    An excellent strainer for the money. It's very strong and feels strong when you pour in a whole box of cooked noodles. So far it's held up well and the construction looks good. When unpacking the item, there are no sharp edges or bent parts. This is a very strong sieve.

    Not the same quality. The handle broke very easily.

    Had to replace the old screen so bought but should have paid attention to the reviews! Handle broke after 4 uses. Easy to use to strain the tea once a day! Nothing like the old version which must have been over 8 years old when it finally gave up! Very disappointed.

    Design of sieves and food sieves

    This sieve, as sieves should be, is excellent. I rarely have to add cheesecloth to strain it to the level I prefer (beef and vegetable broths). However, the handle is spot welded to the body. Mine broke after a few months of very infrequent use, wouldn't recommend. If the manufacturer sees this, find a better way to weld the handle and body.

    Bad material and bad product

    I have had this filter for over two years now and rarely use it; It's one of those kitchen tools that's good to have with you when you need it. When I first used it to drain rice, the strainer was discolored and had small dark spots on it. Today I tried cleaning the screen with a mild solution of chlorine bleach and water, which works very well for my small stainless steel screen filters.     This is NOT A PURCHASE. I love this colander for its functionality and looks but I have to say DO NOT BUY IT because it will break. The connection from the handle to the strainer is really weak and whether it's gone in 2 months or 10 you'll have to buy another one soon. I can say that with confidence as I bought 2 of these.     This could be a great filter, but with a little more care. It's all stainless steel. The rim is made of a magnet-sensitive steel alloy. "Stainless steel" is a term that encompasses many alloys, some of which are actually magnetic. The tightly folded rim protects the screen while forming a liquid trap.
