Not a lot of silver paint, even polishing with wet 600 grit sandpaper and multiple coats can ever give you the really solid finish that creates a REAL solid metal finish, right? That's what got me into it: I wanted what I was doing to look like real chrome, and even the best silver spray couldn't do it. used to using real gold and silver foil and was a bit hesitant to use "imitation" but this faux silver foil really pulled through (and the price is great compared to real silver of course). A pack will most likely last a long time unless you are starting production or planning to work with a large area. Do yourself a favor and get a set of different cosmetic makeup brushes to help you apply; You don't need super expensive "made-for-foliage" brushes, trust me. Don't skimp on size though - it's a critical component! Obviously, like any other slab, it's ultra-thin, and to get started its surface needs to be the right size. Probably a little shinier than real silver, maybe a little "cooler" looking, almost like chrome. In my case, that was exactly the look I was aiming for, so that's a good thing. In other cases, I could see that someone didn't like that aspect. I think what I mean is that if you want to look like real sterling silver, or especially if you need something to match real silver plating or plating, you better go with real sterling silver. Leaf persistence is of course important and so far this product does the job. I didn't expect it to hold up to rough treatment and if possible a thin coat of high gloss clear coat would be a good idea for long term protection.
