We have a sofa with very thick armrests and this add-on table is perfect for our sofa. At first I thought it was a bit pricey, but I ordered it anyway. I was glad it wasn't plastic and some of the plastic bottles weren't much cheaper. I was definitely pleased with the quality of the table. The springs/hinges were strong and held up well on the sofa armrest. There is a non-slip rubber mat on the bottom of the tray to keep the tray in place. The tray itself is well designed with a lip around the perimeter to keep small spills out. This is a good size for a large coffee mug and small snack plate. I'm really happy with it! *Not sure I would be as happy if my sofa had thinner or rounder armrests, YMMV
