(This will not appear on your shipping confirmation). The gloves are adjustable with Velcro around the wrists and around the outer edge of your palm. The velcro wrist closure contains a metal ring through which the strap can be threaded and tightened at will. The gloves are a bit stiff but don't need a long break-in period to be comfortable. Adjust them so they're loose enough to remove with one tug and you'll never have to fiddle with the straps again. The smell wasn't that unpleasant, but it wasn't pleasant either. A generous burst or three Febreezes and a trip through the low-temp cycle in my dryer did the trick. That's why it gets four stars instead of five. They are inexpensive, fit well and are inexpensive. I wouldn't recommend them for cyclists as the material just doesn't offer enough protection.
