Review on 📷 EWAY Backup Reverse Camera: Waterproof License Plate Rear View Camera for Jeep Wrangler 2007-2018 by Logan Barela

Despite mixed reviews I bought this unit because of where and how it is installed. I was thinking of a camera in the spare tire but that seemed to be a wiring issue. It would be possible, but I just didn't want to mess with it. I paired this camera with a Sony ax5000 (which also gets 5 stars from me). Installation was pretty easy once you understand the basics of wiring. The JK wiring is a little wobbly on the rear light. Everything online for 2016 was wrong. But a bit of trial and error led me to the right wire. The red cord splicer helps as you can install and remove it to switch to a different cord until you have a spare cord. The picture is excellent. I mean really great. Judging by the reviews I was expecting a good one. However, it is crystal clear. I cut the white wire as the grid lines will not line up if they are offset at this point. I also had to shorten the plastic of the license plate light a bit. Just so it fits a little better. All of this took me less than 3 minutes. I routed the wire inside the jeep under the carpet to the wire harness in the tail light cavity on the left rear of the jeep (5 minutes). You can't level the trailer, but that's the only negative I can suggest. If you want a simple setup with a nice image to add a little more security to your backup, I don't think you can go wrong with this one.
