The mug, which was a gift in our own home, arrived quickly and was well packaged. Presented as a gift it turned out to be of decent quality with a small chip at the bottom of the mug. The recipient opened the box, took out the mug and poured the obligatory hot tap water into the mug to see the change caused by the heat. There were many oohs and oohs. The first morning of the operation passed without incident. The mug was hand washed and dried then stored away safely for use next weekend. After the second use, the coating on the outside of the mug started peeling off. After the third use, the coating completely deteriorated as the coating swelled and started to blister. Considering the purchase price, I'm sure he'll be living in an RV sometime this spring. Sometime towards the end of autumn the mug will have its fitting death when it is accidentally broken by a niece or nephew and there will be tears over the lost hot chocolate it was holding. In general the quality is terrible. We don't even have a dishwasher so it's not even a random wash. We have similar products from other manufacturers and they work great after years of ownership and use. They're still right at home in our cupboard and there's no shame in pulling out one of these mugs for a cup of coffee with a friend on Saturday.
