Review on πŸš— Enhanced Performance DC Sports SKB1000 Shift Knob by Andrew Frison

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Sturdy shift knob, all metal and feels great! (Fits Subaru M12x1.25)

I couldn't justify spending $60+ on a shift knob for my 2013 Subaru WRX and also wanted to lower the height (despite a short lever). I remember DC Sports had a decent product when I owned my Acura so I went with this grip hoping the weight grip would be comfortable. The whole bullet is made of some kind of steel alloy, I think. It's magnetic, but not quite. Good weight, adapters are included, also made of metal. You basically screw the adapter (if you need one) flush and just screw the shift knob on your shifter. Since it's metal, I wasn't worried about cross threads or broken threads from over-tightening. It definitely lowers the stance a bit, but not too low. Still has good leverage and makes shifting easier. It was 47Β°F this morning and the pen was really cold but not fun. I'm sure winter and hot summer temperatures can be a bit extreme at first, but I've considered dipping the handle in plastic at some point for insulation. Either way, this is a very high quality weighted shift knob. The finish is very nice, doesn't feel cheap and looks great on the car. You will have a gap after removing the stock shift knob. So if you're worried about this and want to keep the cover underneath, you'll need a shift knob boot mount.
