I got 2 of these for my red shrimp in the turtle tank. A few remarks and compliments.1. I've tried putting them down but the bottom plate keeps them upright. (Bonus if that's what you're looking for.) 2. The plants are glued in place, but there is some elasticity to allow them to flex a bit. thick foliage. I think it would be a decent hiding place for the fish, for my turtles it's like a hedge trying to get through them. Turtles are hunters, and this thickness gives them the ability to forage and destroy with shrimp. Wash before use. My smell was polyurethane and paint when I got it, just to be safe from any contamination I washed it off before putting it in the water.
