Not just enough to grip the reamer

I used a 6mm reamer on an aluminum project. Before using it, I found that it had a visible runout that measured about 0.0035 inches. Extended test hole size increased by 0.0012. The purpose of a reamer is to make a precise hole. It can work acceptably in steel.

Definitely not H7 on clamp reamers

Used 8mm reamer for 8mm precision bore. The hole turned out to be 8.05 mm. At first I thought maybe I set the feed or speed wrong, or maybe I have spindle run out. I ended up measuring the development and saw it was around 8.05-8.07mm! Definitely not within the H7 specification. Maybe enough to just enlarge a hole, but definitely not for precision holes. Definitely not an H7.

Considering they are used for precision holes I was really surprised to see how carelessly they were all packed together in one bag - all are in contact with sharpened flutes. What's worse they didn't lay flat in the package, the package was torn and the reamers were just scattered (allowed to bump into each other) in the postal package. It would be fine if each piece was individually wrapped or wrapped in some sort of packaging to ensure they don't touch each other. Now they are basically…
