Great improvement for my opinion

Do not stay sharp. Used a few time and now they don’t even cut paper. Not durable either.Update***The customer service from this company is wonderful. Not only did they send me a free pair of scissors they also sent a handwritten card saying that they made improvements to their manufacturer of their product. The new shears seem to be WAY more durable and made better. Overall a great improvement and a company who listens to their customers.

Pros
  • Great for price
Cons
  • Blade gets stuck constantly

These scissors are Great

I have another brand of EMT scissors and use them for our culinary operations, for nylon sous vide bags and wrapped product. I found these scissors and the work even better with the coating and have the large holes in the handle that the scissors fit my fat fingers. I like them so much that I purchased more. For the price they beat the expensive of kitchen scissors in quality and staying sharp for a very long time and if they get dull, toss them and get another.

Pros
  • Nice shears at a reasonable price.Very good customer service.
Cons
  • Poor quality steel

Another Great Surviveware Product

This is the fourth product that I have bought from Surviveware (plus I have bought four of their first aid kits) and I continue to be impressed with the quality of their products and their customer service. My time tends to be split between enjoying myself in the mountains and working on the water, sometimes miles off shore, so being self sufficient is very important! First Aid training and carrying the right equipment is a big part of this. I was looking for a strong and sturdy pair of shears…

Pros
  • Added to one of my first aid kits.
Cons
  • Doesn't come with a sheath

Love the color but I have already scratched them up .

Everyone is jelous of my black scissors. Love the color but I have already scratched them up pretty good by opening medication to pour on the field(I work in the OR). But overall they do thier intended purpose and are super distinctive so if someone has stolen them they are easy to find.

Pros
  • SHARP BUT SAFE These shears cut anything, except skin. The purposefully engineered blunt tip makes it safe to cut through patients clothing without causing more distress by nicking their skin. These trauma shears are able to safely cut through gauze, splints, several layers of bandages, thick denim and even seat belts during emergencies.
Cons
  • Cannot be sharpened

Useful tool best in my review

Nursing school insisted we each get a pair of bandage scissors as it was "a necessity." Definitely wasn't changing bandages daily, but used these scissors to open medication packages that my arthritic fingers couldn't get.

Pros
  • TRUSTED BY PROFESSIONALS Our shears are highly rated by emergency room personnel, trauma nurses and military paramedics. Whether you’re a nurse-in-training or a trained professional, make sure you’re equipped with the right tools to get the job done.
Cons
  • Not useful for everyday tasks

Best shears yet good for me

I put these shears to a side by side text with the standard shears that come in most kits. These shears not only look great but cut like butter. I tested with all types of materials that they would typically be used for in a medical situation. These new trauma shears made the work a lot easier. One of the tougher materials I tested on was the trigger-fold seams on jeans which is thicker and a tougher material. The normal shears took a lot of force to get trough it. The new trauma shears cut…

Pros
  • May 21, 2017
Cons
  • Blades are not serrated

Quality doesnt have to be expensive

The things we buy that we dont want to have to use. CAse in point, these trauma shears. To be honest, I never want to have to use them. I hope they stay in our Surviveware Trauma kit and never see the light of day. BUT, if I have to open the kit down the road, these are the shears I would want to be using.Obviously, you buy these because you want them to cut what you need cutting, but not doing damage to your skin while doing so. The first thing I did when I opened these was to test them out. I

Pros
  • Very sharp and precise
Cons
  • May become blunt quickly

They last! best in my review

As a Firefighter/EMT I know that traditional shears only last 3 to 4 uses before they become dull and unusable. I have used these shears 4 times and they are still as sharp as the day I received them! I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for quality shears. As a side note, I have found the quality from Surviveware to be top notch with amazing customer service!

Pros
  • Great for use in the classroom or lab
Cons
  • Too expensive for a single use item

surviveware sharp: my feedback

This is one of my favorite brands I've found on ebay and these scissors or trauma shears are very sharp I'm actually using them to open all my packages

Pros
  • Reliable and easy to use
Cons
  • May corrode over time

Love the matte black

I like them overall and they are good while I’m in nursing school.however they do seem a little cheap and flimsy. I don’t think they’ll break after using them (hopefully) but they are definitely not made from sturdy plastic. Good for starters in the medical field.

Pros
  • Really sharp
Cons
  • this iteem hasa problem with heavy cloth as in jeans.

Can do some cutting

I haven't used it yet, but they seem dangerous in the sense that it can really do some cutting! It's big too, seems very durable, and slides smoothly when opening and closing. I'm saving this for emergencies, such as if I were in flooded area and couldn't get my seatbelt off, I'm pretty sure this will help cut through the seatbelt. Unfortunately, this has happened in my family with a morbid result.

Pros
  • Great
Cons
  • Heavy and bulky

Blunt End Shears Nicely Made

I got these for to add to my medical chest at home.I was actually surprised when I first seen them, becausethe look of them didnt look that like they would cut through anything.I was wrong, so the first thing I tried them on was a 6ply 4x4 drain sponge,it cut right through it paper and all. Then I tried a wadded up wet wipe and it didnt stick cut right through it.So then I went a got a thick wash cloth, and it cut right through that as well. These seem to work well. They are nice and sharp for…

Pros
  • Can be used in a variety of settings
Cons
  • May not cut through all types of fabric

Superb cutting and lightweight

Shears work extremely well for all types of guaze and wraps. Stays super sharp throughout several applications. Black is styling.

Pros
  • Ideal for situations where time is of the essence
Cons
  • Not sharp enough for some applications

Reasonably priced, satisfied with purchase

I liked that the shears were lightweight. They fit my hands, however I have smaller hands. I think someone with large hands may struggle a bit. They were sharp and cut through material easily. The plastic handles gave me pause, as they were a bit flimsy, however they held up just fine. Price is very reasonable. Overall I was pleased with my purchase. I used shears to cut through soft cast I had on my left wrist. I fell on the ice and had to rewrap wrist.

Pros
  • Easy to operate
Cons
  • May not work well in low-light conditions

Tight and Sharp - Slays Denim

Great to see a set of trauma shears with sharp blades and tight blade clearance that can eat through some denim with no issue. Simple and straightforward at an affordable price with good snag / skin guard. Solid, simple product, just as these shears should be!

Pros
  • Easy to use. Did not cut some tape well
Cons
  • Not ideal for cutting clothing off during an emergency

Sharp and can cut through anything like butter

Pros Super sharp, light weightCons: Difficult to open needs a little more force than other trauma shears. Required some oil and some work to loosen

Pros
  • Excellent value for money
Cons
  • May not fit in small first aid kits

Sheers that don't sheer

Trauma sheers have pretty much one job: cutting. These don't cut, I threw them away.Update: the company replaced them and refunded my purchase. The others seem to well although I haven't used them in the field yet. I was pleasantly surprised by their customer service and desire to make the situation right again.

Pros
  • A must-have for any medic or nurse
Cons
  • May not cut through thick leather

A++ awesome product from an awesome company!

Great value for the money! They are very lightweight and very durable! I tested them on several items around my house just to see how they would handle the job, and they didn’t disappoint!

Pros
  • Instruments & Surgical Tools
Cons
  • Rusts quickly

Quality Shears best in my review

Fortunately, I haven't had to use these shears yet for their intended purpose! I bought multiple pairs so I can keep one in each car and one in the house. I have also explained to the wife she is able to use them as utility shears for whatever needs cutting. They look and feel very well made and I expect they will hold up well.

Pros
  • Can be used with one hand
Cons
  • Too expensive compared to similar products

Great service and product

The shears were delivered timely. When I got the shears out of the package, at first I was a little disappointed as they felt like they weren't made of the best quality, however when I tested them to see their sharpness and durability, they performed to expectation. The all black look has a tactical feel to them. Overall, very satisfied with the product and seller

Pros
  • Provides superior performance
Cons
  • May not be suitable for sterile environments
