*** Update 07/31/2021. Original unedited review below *** The seller contacted me and asked if anything could be done to resolve my dissatisfaction with this product. I explained my problem with the charging function and they confirmed that I had fixed the problem (e.g. removing the phone case) before I left my review. They insisted on free shipping for a replacement lamp. It arrived and I tested it and it works PERFECTLY. The charging function also works when the phone case is on, the lamp is on, the clock function is on, etc. Don't be picky about placement. The lamp doesn't like to party and charge in full light, but the lamp is bright enough that it doesn't really need it and clicking down works great, so it's not really a sacrifice. All the positives I mentioned below still apply with the great customer service. I can now recommend this lamp unreservedly. ***Original Review*** This is what you get when a product tries to do everything. It has some things I really like. . . The cable is a round connector that is less likely to be damaged than a USB connector. (I've already lost count of how much I've been through). I wanted a gooseneck head but it was with a hinged swivel. In fact, it can tilt and rotate in any direction. It folds up for travel. The clock function is good, it's an added bonus, and a battery is required for the clock to keep its time when unplugged. They have multiple light levels that are easy to control (on, off, brighter, etc.). I ignored the annoying song that plays when plugged in and was sure I'd found a winner. Unfortunately the charging part of this lamp, one of the parts I really needed, doesn't work. At first I found it very tricky as to where to place your phone for charging (I have a Samsung) and tried to be very precise with placement. But unfortunately, even if you get a placement JUST THIS, one of two things will happen: either it will start and stop loading every 60 seconds, or it will randomly stop loading sometime during the night, and then I'll end up with it a dead phone. . I go to the trash can.
