Not Quite a Fan - Boxing Gloves

I used to buy some stuff from Sanabul (their V.2 Gis staples are great value) and wanted to love them. The main plus is that they offer decent padding, the ankle area has decent padding so I think they might do for light bag/double bag work. However, the wrist support is almost nonexistent so I wouldn't recommend it for heavy bag work or anything like that and the airflow isn't great so I probably wouldn't even use it for bag training alone. . . If the aesthetics of your glove are important to you, it looks pretty ugly, although that's probably not a big deal. I haven't tried sparring with them but they seem fine for light sparring aside from the issues mentioned above. In terms of durability I'd say I'm not entirely sure as I sent them back almost immediately but I'd say they look like they'll last a year or two and will likely peel, although on At this point you should probably get better gloves anyway. In terms of value for money, people say these gloves are good value for money, but I disagree with the $50 price tag. They exist at a price that, I would say, is not suitable for almost anyone. If you're a total beginner just starting to reach into your pocket, there are cheaper gloves out there with better grip all around. If you're sparring do yourself and your arms a favor and invest the extra $20-40 and get a decent pair of Firetex/Windy/Twins or whatever, you need your arms and don't want to worry. about dropping powerful bombs in the gym.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Big and Chunky
