High volume printing with lots of updates in stock

I wanted a different high volume printer so I could print more movie props, costumes and helmets without cutting them into multiple pieces (or at least minimizing the number of the cut pieces). I stumbled across Bluer Plus and found that it already included many of the upgrades I love to add to my printers. Automatic platform leveling (make sure you manually level the platform first) with a 3D touch sensor, a magnetic platform, a BMG extruder that I use on other printers, TMC 2209 drivers, and even two-piece fans with two fan ducts for better partial cooling. This two piece fan/air duct configuration was a huge plus for me as I am always looking for higher quality fan air duct parts for better cooling and I don't feel like doing it here. The packaging and protection of the printer was top notch. I was impressed with how well everything was packaged and protected for shipping. Although some tinkering with the box would have to be done in transit, I wouldn't worry too much about possible damage. Aesthetics - The printer looks very stylish. As I was setting everything up (it didn't take long before everything was assembled) my wife came down the stairs and said the printer looked very cool. I have multiple printers and it's not printer proficient but the Bluer Plus really stands out and looks really good with the 2 tree color scheme. Out of the box I did a few initial calibrations and quick checks that everyone should do when setting up a new printer. Slightly tighten the straps and inspect the frame to make sure it is straight. Level up manually, make sure the leads are oiled and start printing. The only thing I would like to say is that I noticed that my power supply has a little coil hum. This is not uncommon for power supplies and not a real problem. Mine was only faintly audible. Hooking it up was pretty easy too. The printer uses a pair of Ethernet cables. I've never come across this (as far as ethernet cables go), but it did everything very quickly, efficiently, and cleanly. I've used the zip ties that also came with the printer to tie the cables together, but I always prefer to leave the cable routing open until I've made a few prints to see how much slack is needed. the ability to see the motherboard and drivers on the top left side of the printer. It's incredibly easy to access and make changes as needed. It has always been frustrating to remove the bottom panel on other printers to access the motherboard. This solution makes it very, very easy with minimal effort. I think this is one of the most interesting features of the printer. I plan to change the firmware a bit in the future, but I do that on most printers as it's a personal preference. No complaints other than my power supply's coil squeak, but again it's not very audible and not really a problem. For now I'm hoping to buy another Bluer Plus in the future.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
