"Bubble Release " Very Poor

I used a 4 inch ball mold to test "deep fill". You can see how bubbly the mixture was in the first picture. Image 2 is a close-up so you can see these are air bubbles and not the glitter I put in. When mixing a batch, I poured B (hardener) into a ziplock bag and then poured A (resin) into it. I closed the packaging and massaged the batch for a 5 minute timer. The instructions say 5-7 minutes. After 5 minutes I checked out the contents and it looked clean apart from all the trapped gas, hiss. Then I focused on getting the group to release the gases. hung the batch bag on the edge of the table and then tapped it with vibration and other methods to try to release the gas. Foam pooled at the top of the bag, but my patience ran out before I could get the bag even remotely clean and hiss . I cut off the corner of the bag with scissors and then pumped my batch into a ball shape until full. I used a needleless syringe to draw out 3ml of liquid. Then I tapped into the hole of the mold the elements I wanted to mix into the ball: * 6 drops of gold paint (stir in with a syringe) * a fair amount of neon yellow fine glitter (stir in with a syringe) * pink color changing mica powder ( injected with a syringe) * galaxy, color-changing mica powder (injected with a syringe). Then I pour 3ml of epoxy back into the ball mold. Any epoxy that leaked out from under the mix was replaced with epoxy from a piping bag. It was very frustrating to find that all the mica and glitter had collected on the bottom of the epoxy pot (i.e. the top of the epoxy sphere). The epoxy was thin enough that they settled to the bottom, but thick enough that the hiss continued and never let up. Figure 3 shows how much the epoxy has shrunk after 24 hours of curing. Remember I made sure the mold was filled to the fill hole. Figure 4 shows the shrinkage after the foam was cut to shrink. Epoxy takes another 3-7 days to fully cure. Right now it looks like the gummy balls we used to get from vending machines for a quarter. There are other deep cast epoxies that are more like water so they can release more bubbles. In such cases, I wouldn't be surprised if the particles settle rather than remain suspended in the epoxy. But this epoxy was thick once mixed. It was very uncomfortable to find that he couldn't stand the mica. As I received this product for evaluation, the documents may differ from what you will receive. Please ensure you have received a US government required Material Safety Data Sheet (SDS). If you are unfamiliar with Safety Data Sheets and why you need them, please see OSHA publication BR-3514 Hazard Communication Standard: Safety Data Sheets - OSHA Overview. I wish you success.
