This is my second training collar. Compared to another collar I have, I found the range to be longer (about 650 feet versus about 480 feet - both shorter than the claimed 1640 feet, but I haven't tested in the open field - if signal is lost, between the A mound has formed on the transmitter and the collar.) The unit looks sturdier than the other one I have - no glued parts to fall apart around the strap. The device comes with a cable with two connectors for charging. , one for the transmitter and the other for the receiver, so you can charge both devices at the same time. When comparing this product to another I have, I initially had a few reservations - the location of the charging port and the need to press the transmitter button. twice when a different signaling mode was used before - but now I'm actually better off the way it is. The receiver's charging port is covered with a strap - to connect, you must pull the strap to gain access to the port. It's not convenient, but I think the charging port - a weak point from water and dirt - is better protected in this arrangement. previously used, to use the tone, you need to press the tone button twice - once to change modes and again to transmit the signal. This was annoying at first, but it would have prevented the dog from being accidentally electrocuted when I intended to send a vibration or beep. I will update this review if it breaks or if the batteries don't hold a charge.
