I've been using this laptop stand for a few weeks with my 17" laptop and it's very stable. It takes a lot of force to get your hands in the desired position but that's good because after that they change their position doesn't.I don't see a way to adjust the friction setting on my hands but I only use it on my desk and keep it in the same position all the time.I like the laptop screen to be higher so I mean Don't have to bend my neck to look at it The non-slip pads work very well both under the stand (in contact with the table) and on my laptop This is a simple but very effective design Very happy with my purchase.
