I was skeptical after reading other reviews and reluctantly bought one from Petsmart for $120 (then bought it from Amazon and sent back a new one). In any case it was great. It works through the windows in my house, has good range (100ft and had no problems) and the beep/discharge is fast. The horn button is usually enough to change my dog's behavior and I don't have to shock anymore. Adjustable shock setting is good but too high so be careful and READ INSTRUCTIONS to determine shock level (1-12). The battery life is very good but I refused to turn it off at night because I accidentally loosened the lid too much (that's how you turn it off) and the next morning when I let the dog out the lid fell off - the lid Since the power button has a terrible design and that's the only reason I'm giving it four stars. Thinking I would never find a hat in my huge garden, I called the manufacturer and they wanted to send me a brand new collar for FREE that was better than I could have dreamed of, but I found the hat. Now I just leave it on and swap out two batteries every ten days - I bought 20 batteries off Amazon for $5. Too simple. Finally, buy it, read the manual and enjoy the benefits of this wonderful dog training device. I wish it had a bark feature but it doesn't.
