We purchased this product after our fridge control panel burned out and there was no replacement available. The product arrived quickly and appears to be working as advertised. When the power supply falls below a certain level or is turned off, the device turns off the power supply to the refrigerator. After power is restored, there is a two minute delay before power is applied to the refrigerator to protect the refrigerator from the effects of one or more severe electrical surges. During a recent natural disaster, where the power was interrupted and restored several times within a few minutes, it worked well for us. Why no 5 star rating? Important information is missing: firstly, there is no provenance information or safety ratings like UL on the case or packaging. Second, there is no company contact information on the packaging. There is a warranty statement but no indication of how to contact the company if there is a warranty issue. We're a little nervous that this comes with no indication of testing and safety certifications and who develops/manufactures/is responsible for the design and safety of the device.
