This is a high quality item and I am very happy with my purchase. It replaced the cheap inlet filter that came with my Porter Cable compressor. This device has a much larger filter surface (less resistance) and a better seal between the filter and the housing (less dirty air blows through). A reverse inlet will definitely turn off the compressor pump. I measured the sound level at 83dBA with the OEM filter and 78dBA after installing this unit. If you're not familiar with noise measurements, let's say 5 dBA quieter to our ears is about 25% quieter. Trust me it makes a big difference! I will not lie, it is important to me that this product is made in the USA. Even the filter cartridges are made in the USA. As a Solberg product, I know I will never have trouble finding replacement filter cartridges.
