This is a fantastic device with great technology concept but the execution and reliability leave a lot to be desired. Connection reliability via Thread was okay, there are occasional disconnect moments, but compared to your typical Wi-Fi/BT based HK devices, it heals itself. The main issue I have are energy usage reports as they are extremely unreliable . Depending on when you open the app, "Total Cost" will either show $0.00 or seemingly randomly jump to an astronomically high number. I've tried resetting and reloading my thread hub, nothing seems to fix this issue. All in all, it looks like an experimental device. If Eve can't figure out how to make usage data reliable and consistent, it won't be a 5-star product. Update October 2021: The performance reporting issue seems to have been fixed with a firmware update! For this reason I am changing my rating to 1 star. There is still an issue with active power metrics updating too slowly. Even with a manual update, it takes about a minute for Eve to report the new power consumption value. Please allow the app to actively query Eve for current usage when the user refreshes the page manually. Another major improvement will be the "Total Cost" selector, where you can select 1D, 1W, 1M, 1Y, or ALL. This would make the metrics much more useful.
