When my son was 8 years old I got an L. A bit lost but ok. When he was 9 years old, he used it frequently. Now he's 10 and getting cramps. I have XL Compared to L, the width/inseam of the legs is very similar, while the waist/hips are about half an inch larger. A little disproportionate. I took the XXL because I wanted a longer inseam. Again, the XXL is a lot bigger for the waist/hips, but the legs aren't that much bigger at all. I return XL and XXL. I still give it a 4 because the L fits very well and the fabric is a bit thicker than other jammers and lasted quite a while. I am sorry that there is no longer a suitable size for my son.
