I bought these shoes because they advertised that they had more grip than some of their other shoes. For the record, I have Terraventures and live except when it's wet. These treads are firm but slippery when wet. I slipped and fell a few times on the slippery granite here in Texas. Ultras have more cushioning and grip than advertised. However, I had to take shoes half a size smaller because the hill in me slipped. I don't find them narrower in the toe area, but overall they're quite comfortable. In a perfect world, I'd marry Ultra-soled Terra boots. Anyway, I only wear terrases when they're dry and ultras when they're wet.
