Comfort and good traction. Good for a wide leg!

I first wore these shoes on a 4 mile walk up a very high hill with some rocky terrain. I never slipped. The upper of the shoe is made from a fairly thin material that allows the shoe to breathe but also allows a small amount of morning dew to seep through. I wouldn't wear them in overly wet conditions but overall I'm very happy with this purchase. The wide toe is great too! My feet have never felt pinched when climbing or descending off-road.

Great shoes for hiking!

I love these shoes! I have been using Topo on my long hikes for many years. The only thing I've always dreamed of was a slab of stone in my sneakers. It was pleading! really helps your feet endure longer days on rocky terrain. I can't tell how it would work for trail running, but for hiking they are awesome! But beware of the price tags! I have already contacted Topo about this. This shoe shouldn't cost you more than $150. The fact that they are currently struggling a bit with the stock has…

Improved grip, not so good fit.

I bought these shoes because they advertised that they had more grip than some of their other shoes. For the record, I have Terraventures and live except when it's wet. These treads are firm but slippery when wet. I slipped and fell a few times on the slippery granite here in Texas. Ultras have more cushioning and grip than advertised. However, I had to take shoes half a size smaller because the hill in me slipped. I don't find them narrower in the toe area, but overall they're quite…

Total disappointment and nothing with Ulraventure

1. This is not Ulraventure and certainly not "Pro"; I can't imagine a pro wearing them trail running unless they're paid for by Topo.2. The shoe has almost no ground feel and also has an uncomfortably stiff midsole/sole. The upper is unforgiving and doesn't offer the same level of comfort as the more form-fitting faux mesh used in most other shoes.4. Everything Topo did to improve on the original Ultraventure fails here; the Megagrip sole is issued for shoes more suitable for hiking; Zip foam…
