Worked then stopped

Seven months on duty. Bought 09/02/19 For a while it didn't change the volume or channel until I first pressed the source button, then OK and then the channel or volume up or down. More recently, I could click on the light sensor that sends/receives a signal from the remote to the TV, and then use the source button /ok/channel or volume. Then it just didn't work. I changed the batteries and my husband tried to reprogram with the TV code.

This is a replacement remote control, not original. No programming required. No instructions!
