I first used this case with the intended bay layout that comes with the case. I've since upgraded the smaller custom case that houses the Switch screen itself with a "Hestia Goods Switch Carrying Case" (instead of the one that came with that carrying case). Highly recommended. This alternative console pocket "fits" inside the upper left sleeve but no longer has the Velcro closure and is a snug fit. So I took out the bottom velcro instead (push it aside). , where there are more Velcro to not lose forever). Now I place the switch housing in the bottom of the bag. This gives me ENOUGH room for things like Joy-Con or Pro Controller buttons. The benefit of this is that the original top left compartment serves as extra padding for the bottom of the bag. See my screenshots for examples! My extra JoyCons (as well as cables, headphones, cartridges, wrist straps) fit in the Hestia Switch Case, which really fits more portable components for life in one case, and everything else the Switch needs is in this larger travel case that looks like on a laptop (dock, power plug and optional controller grips/pro controllers). If you're wondering what Joy-Con grips I'm using, they're "FASTSNAIL Grips for Nintendo Switch Joy-Con". Highly recommended. I highly recommend this case! It looks very nice. It takes up little space and feels very light when everything is in. I would put something on top of this tote as it is not "hard" and is not protected by plastic protection. So treat it like a regular laptop carrying case with minimal padding.
