Review on πŸ”§ Skywalker SKY32815 - Heavy Duty 12-Inch Wall Mount Bracket (1 Pair) - SKY-32815 by Ken Kowal

Poor fit makes installation difficult

You will need a drill, vise or vise to bend the mounting leg "tabs" that abut the wall, a 10mm socket wrench, 11mm open end wrench or deep socket wrench. Wall screws are rubbish and other materials are good (zinc plated mild steel) but the mounting tabs are the wrong angle and the U-bolts don't match the hole spacing. The gap is too large and the mounting tabs need to be bent more to press against the wall. All this can be corrected with a slight bend and more laborious (laborious) tightening of the nuts. Wall screws are best fitted with a 10mm socket wrench as the slots are too small for a flat head screwdriver. Once installed the brace is good but it should have been simpler and required fewer tools (I think they chose the hardware due to the low price).

Pros
  • Rugged metal construction | Distance from the wall: 12 inches
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
