Box for many projects for money

I ordered this pack to build a PID controller. I purposefully leaned against this device, as it already has cut-outs on the sides for cooling. Although my first box had a piece of the plastic frame chipping off (Revain sent me a replacement), I'm impressed with the fit, finish, and rigidity of this unit. I was expecting the box to be aluminum as it is only described as 'metal'. It's steel instead, and the blue matte finish looks a lot nicer than I expected. Since I was planning to use a carbide tipped router bit in the router to cut the holes in the front and back panels, I'll have to switch to a jigsaw and files, and I expect it to take longer than if it were aluminum. .As others have pointed out, I think the weak part of the build is probably the plastic bezels on the front and back. These frames and small screws tie all the different panels together to form the assembled box. Only time will tell how the plastic holds up. My PID will most likely just be on a shelf or desk, so I don't expect this to be a problem. However, I was hoping that I could completely ground the metal of the box with a single ground screw. Since each steel plate is attached to a plastic frame and not to each other, they are all effectively isolated in terms of bonding. Even where the panels touch, the blue trim looks thick enough to isolate them from each other. It's not a big deal for my application, but I found it worth mentioning if you want a fully bonded case. Others have also commented that the legs are hard plastic. I already ordered rubber feet for my project before deciding on this box, so I plan on just swapping them out. Since the other box I tested didn't even have legs, I don't see that as a downside. Again, considering the price, this box is much better made than I expected and I think it will be a nice touch. looking for a finished product for my PID project.
