Review on 🌬️ Nordic Pure 20x20x2 MERV 12 Pleated Air Filter by Louis Asok

I had a feeling something was wrong when I opened the box and found that each filter did not list the filter type or MERV rating, just a sticker on the outside the box labeled MERV12. We've had very unhealthy air for the past week due to wildfires in Oregon and Washington. My laser detector has consistently measured PM2.5200 µg/m3 in the air in my home. I used a 3M Filtrete filter with a performance rating of 1085 in my home oven and it kept the indoor air level at PM2.5 = 10 µg/m3 or lower. I turn off the fan at night at home because we have an air purifier in our bedroom. This morning the reading in the house was PM2.5 = 40 µg/mm3 and it has been like this every morning all week. Since the 3M filter looked pretty dirty, I replaced it with a new Nordic Pure filter before turning on the fan. The filter is rated MERV12, PR 1500-1965, which beats the 3M filter I use. After the fan had been running for 2 1/2 hours, the indoor air was still at PM2.5 = 35 µg/m3. I took out the new Nordic Pure filter, put back the used 3M filter and the indoor air quality dropped to PM2.5 = 12 µg/m3 in 30 minutes! Nordic Pure is of course too late to return it, I bought it in June to stay over the winter. Filters do not perform as advertised and are not as effective as 3M filters with lower MERV and power ratings. I am very disappointed and will not buy from this company again. Sometimes well-known brands cost more for good reason.
