Cartridges fail after test print and cleaning process

I purchased this cartridge to replace a recently purchased defective cartridge that had sat in my drawer for a month prior to installation. (These Brother machines report that they are running out of ink even though there is still plenty of usable ink left in the cartridge.) Both cartridges did pretty much the same thing. They were loaded into the machine (I had no problems with this machine or any cartridges prior to these 2 for over a year). all also showed full) on the 2nd cartridge, he could never find the first cartridge. After installation, the machine starts the cleaning and leveling process, on the second carriage. I printed a page of text and the quality was poor and unusable. I did the maintenance from the printer control screen - a test page and clean heads. The first test page was bad on black, everything else was fine, so the head cleaning message reappeared on the screen, which I did. A test page was run, the results improved significantly, but then the printer reported that the black cartridge was empty and could not be detected. I uninstalled and reinstalled it, but it still showed as not recognized and the printer utility on the computer said the cartridge was empty. I grabbed my original cartridge (LC207BK XXL) from the trash and refilled it at my local cartridge store. It works as it should, although I've always used Original Brother inks, I had to go this route. I've tried contacting Brother directly but their email contact form returns "We have a problem here" instead of being sent. Your online troubleshooting matrix did not help as you will not be able to print to these printers unless all cartridges are installed and working. As for the pressure, I'm at a loss. I wasn't even able to print a return label for the first defective cartridge and had to order a label in the mail from Revain.
